You know when authors talk about a book they wrote and they say that the story was inside of them, and they just had to get it out. I sometimes feel like that with weddings and shoots. I can see it so perfectly and I just want to bring it to life! That's how I feel about the vision I see for this mood board. I see a cozy winter industrial setting, stung cafe lights and lots of minimal-meets-industrial details. I am hoping to execute this vision soon. Stay tuned!
I have been meaning to post this for sometime now, and shame on me for not getting to it earlier, but I adore this couple and all the special details they put into their wedding. I can't thank them enough for letting me be a part of it.
Groom, Greg, and Bride, Jessica, are the perfect balance to each other, his reserved nature to her outspoken ways. They are an eternally positive couple and their love is so true and unconditional. The couple came to me just after she got engaged, she knew her vision for her wedding, she just needed someone to help execute it. Jessica is just as obsessed with details as I am and she wanted her's and Greg's special day to reflect exactly who they are as a couple. She's from Long Island, he's from New Jersey and the social media obsessed couple met at school in Boston, over Twitter!
On a chilly day in March, Greg and Jessica said "I do," at Three Villages, a charming inn on the shore of the Long Island Sound. The couple spends time in Cape Cod, so they wanted to bring that feel to the day through many hand-made nautical touches and beautiful hydrangeas. Jessica, a multi faceted woman, loves books, Kate Spade, leopard print and Motley Crew and found a way to work them all into her wedding day (the quote on the ceremony backdrop is a Motley Crew Lyric).
After a long road to the alter, Greg and Jessica got their perfect day. And to top it off, Jessica celebrated her thirtieth birthday at the after party.
I couldn't love this photo more!
These tables are layered with special details from the couple's life, including the bride's love for books, the couples Boston history, hydrangeas representing Cape Cod and the nautical colors for their love of spending time on the boat.

Winter arrived this weekend, by dumping a TON of snow on the East Coast. I saw some amazing weddings that carried on despite Jonas' best efforts. But this mood board is about that next day. When you wake up, the sun is trying to peak out, the snow is beautiful and fresh, and you are ready to go outside once again. I'm imagining a lovely, cozy, dinner alfresco, under the snow covered trees.
We're back! It's been a crazy, busy couple weeks, moving, unpacklng, but we are back at it this week. Today we are coming at you with some dreamy bohemian wedding inspiration, because it's coming, whether you're ready or not, so you may as well, grab a vintage fur and park yourself by some warm, glowing candlelight.
We are so excited to have our Cozy Winter Antique Shop styled shoot featured over on Midwest Bride today! I took inspiration from this mood board I put together back in November to evoke the fresh and cozy feel. This shoot was really special, because it took place in my in-law's antique shop, Vintage on Lake Drive. We used all their trinkets, layered with tons of candles as the beautiful backdrop and styled the table with wares you can purchase in the shop. Rueben Antonio knocked it out of the park with the florals and Shutter Sam brought the vision together with her beautiful images. Thank you to all the vendors, you really brought this shoot to life!
