It's spring! It's spring! Guess I was feeling extra girly this week, because this mood board is all about flowers, the color pink and butterflies. Yes, butterflies. They are making a comeback. Mark my words. Last time butterflies were a big thing, I was a teenager and Mariah Carey ruled the world. Now it's Queen B, but butterflies none-the-less are making are back on the scene. I think they could be so pretty sprinkled into wedding details, paired with pretty flowers, and spring colors.
I want to say I'm over indigo dying, but I'm just not, and I don't think the rest of the world is either. I think this trend is going to ride for a while. One of the things I love about indigo dying is that it brings in so much layering, texture and depth. Many details are hand dyed, so they are special, unique and inconsistent. I love that you can pair this trend with cacti or greenery and you really don't even need flowers to make it work flawlessly. This mood board barely brings in any color outside the blue family, only some shots of pink and beautiful wood and leather details.
It's been a while, but I am inspired and back at it, creating content for you, my brides and friends seeking inspiration for pretty weddings and gatherings! Today's mood board is a personal one. This weekend I put together a giant inspiration board, out side of the computer, with actual magazine tears, to inspire my personal and professional brands. You see, I have always been a maximal kind of person. I am a collector and a lover of things and color. But there is a piece of me who is been influenced by the minimal movement. I have paired down, developed a look a little more sophisticated than my former, loud vintage prints. This mood board is inspired by my personal style, classic with a twist, where modern and bohemian meet, the colors are colors, but they don't scream, they speak softly. I just rattled off a bunch of oxymorons, but I think they all accurately describe me and this mood board.
I getting back Saturday night, which, sadly does not give enough time to pull off an Easter Brunch as beautiful as these. So instead we will keep it low key and follow a one-year old around to pick up some eggs, and that will be just as lovely. But, had I time to prepare, I would love to throw a lovely brunch inspired by the dreamy images below.
There aren't many things I love more than wild flowers and VW Buses, the perfect combo for a flower child-inspired wedding. How dreamy would would getting married in a field of flowers be? Or even just a table sprinkled with them, like the photo below. This mood board makes me want to flash the peace sign and I love it!
