Halloween was so yesterday. hahaha. But for real, feeling traditional, and thinking about Thanksgiving, something warm, welcoming and cozy. Touches of plaid add a perfect amount of preppyness, layered pumpkins and natural elements add the perfect amount of bohemian. Add a little glam with hits of copper.
Today's mood board is for a little get together I've been day dreaming about for a while. Long inspired by this AMAZING dinner party thrown by the always swoon-worthy Athena Calderone, I would love to recreate something similar in my own backyard, and just might soon!
Next weekend I'll be traveling to Michigan to spend the Fourth of July holiday with my family on Lake Huron. It's my favorite place, the place I've been going every summer since I was born. There is so much nostalgia for me in that little town in middle America. We ride bikes in to town to get ice cream. We pack a picnic and go down to the beach. We sit by the campfire until the stars are their brightest. It's those perfect memories of childhood, that I still live for as an adult that inspired this mood board. I think that a wedding on a lake filled with comfort and nostalgia would be a perfect way to start a marriage.
It's been a while, but I am inspired and back at it, creating content for you, my brides and friends seeking inspiration for pretty weddings and gatherings! Today's mood board is a personal one. This weekend I put together a giant inspiration board, out side of the computer, with actual magazine tears, to inspire my personal and professional brands. You see, I have always been a maximal kind of person. I am a collector and a lover of things and color. But there is a piece of me who is been influenced by the minimal movement. I have paired down, developed a look a little more sophisticated than my former, loud vintage prints. This mood board is inspired by my personal style, classic with a twist, where modern and bohemian meet, the colors are colors, but they don't scream, they speak softly. I just rattled off a bunch of oxymorons, but I think they all accurately describe me and this mood board.
Yes, I am daydreaming about travel again. This time it's running away to Paris for an over=the-top romantic elopement. We are talking about cliche romance, exchanging vows in front of the Eiffel Tower, followed by a picnic in the park (with baguettes and cheese, of course), and then a sunset glass of champagne at a cozy cafe. I can't think of anything more cheesey that's also incredibly perfect. A fairytale start to your happily ever after.
