Of course I love all my mood boards, but this one speaks to me for so many reasons! I am obsessed with the colors, the mixing of slightly bohemian with modern elements. The details seem of-the-moment, but not too trendy. I called this mood board "the new neutrals" because blush, indigo and mustard are the non-color colors. They are the accents that keep close enough to a safe neutral palette, but kick it up a notch.
I want to say I'm over indigo dying, but I'm just not, and I don't think the rest of the world is either. I think this trend is going to ride for a while. One of the things I love about indigo dying is that it brings in so much layering, texture and depth. Many details are hand dyed, so they are special, unique and inconsistent. I love that you can pair this trend with cacti or greenery and you really don't even need flowers to make it work flawlessly. This mood board barely brings in any color outside the blue family, only some shots of pink and beautiful wood and leather details.
"I like gold." Remember Austin Powers in Goldmember? How in the world was that 13 years ago!? Before Beyonce was the queen. Anyway, gold has been trending for a while, and maybe this is a little over the top, but maybe it's just right, if you're a modern Foxy Cleopatra.
When you think of jewel tones you usually picture a fall or winter table scape, but this palette is amazing as cheery summer soirée. Blue and yellow glassware pair beautifully with bright pink flowers and happy patterned fabrics. Below is proof that jade, teal and ambers make for great summer staples.
